Comfort
From HabLife
Heating
The Hab has two furnaces for heating, one for each floor, working independently. We expect you to bring pullovers, socks and such to keep yourself warm, as we would like to keep the heating bill (in the last season 20% of the total seasonal costs of running the station) down by keeping the thermostat at 65F at maximum during the day. 55F during the night.
On the top floor you can wear shoes as that has no longer a carpet to keep the sand secure for ever.
Water use
We do not limit your water as if you are on a trip to Everest.
However, do not use more water then is needed with easy measures like opening the water tap only a little bit instead of all the way.
Showers can be had for 1- 2 crewmembers each day.
Hot water use
The same here: don’t use hot water when cold water suffices.
And more importantly: only heat the water in the LPG waterheater when you intend to use it for showers and such soon after.
It takes about 20-25 minutes to heat the water.
Do not keep the water heater on during the full day or night.
