Welcome to 'HabLife'

The Wiki that tells you how to live at a Mars Analogue Research Station, Hab for short.

index

This Wiki is all about being a Marsonaut on one of the already operational Mars Analogue Research Stations, FMARS and MDRS or what to expect in those Habs, EuroMARS and MarsOz that are not yet operational. What to bring and what to expect. What rules apply to Safety, SIM, Science, Public Relations and Comfort. In short how to live on analogue Mars.
At present FMARS (2000) and MDRS (2001) are both operational. As there is especially loads of practical information about MDRS this site will for now be dedicated mainly to knowledge management and knowledge transfer for MDRS. Where practical FMARS knowledge will be inserted. When EuroMARS and MarsOz go operational this wiki will be extended to hold practical knowledge about those Habs as well.
This site is an ongoing project that never will be finished as the systems of the Habs keep changing. And as the insight each consecutive crew brings on how to live on analogue Mars brings with it the need to document the procedures anew.

All crewmembers, past, present and future, are invited to help maintain this site to the most recent knowledge and experience.
This index page gives you some ideas of what kind of articles we need, but feel free to add those items that you think will be helpful to others.

May we see you on Mars!

This wiki HabLife was started because veterans of the Mars-Habs felt a growing need to create a comprehensive wiki for quick reference for crews and for outreach to the general public.
This Wiki is intended to be a manual for the the Mars Analogue Research Station(s). To edit it, simply create an account (upper right corner), log in, go to the page you want to edit, and click the 'edit' tab. You might also want to consult the User's Guide. If you have any problems, contact Kim Binsted or Artemis Westenberg.
